Creating A Portable Sound System

One essential part of a portable sound system is a good computer. This is where everything in the system is controlled from. There are two types of computer available; PC or Mac. There are PC and Mac laptops that have the horsepower we need to run an audio studio. The choice usually comes down to personal preference. Some people think that the best choice for people with little computer experience is the Mac, which has a reputation for being user friendly. Both PC’s and Macs offer a vast range of different programs for running audio from.

The next important feature is a receiver. This takes the signal from the computer, and boosts it to a usable level. This is then fed into an amplifier, which will boost it further, until it is capable of driving the speakers.

Finally, the speakers. In any audio system, speakers are a vital component. Without speakers, there is simply no sound produced. There are several different types of speaker available. Subwoofers and woofers are designed to cope with the ultra-low bass frequencies, creating the beating heart of your home audio system.  Mid-range speakers deal with the mid-range frequencies, while the tweeter speakers are optimized for the highest frequencies. All these types of speaker are essential for creating a full, balanced and complete sound. For delivering sound to large venues, bigger, all-in-one PA speakers need to be used. These speakers deliver high output, and with a bit of careful planning, and a will to pay a little more, will deliver unparalleled sound quality.

Portable sound systems basically work in the same way as a normal home audio system, with the exception that the audio source and speakers are designed to be moved. This allows for a very versatile system, that can be set up when and where you need it. It is essential to research all the different components you will need, in order to avoid needless spending or unnecessary purchases.
